Here's a clip of Tom Jones singing Fly Me to the Moon. It take scenes of Tom from both 1969 and 2007. I hope you enjoy it.
That's actually always been one of my favorite songs by Frank Sinatra. It's really cool hearing Tom's take on this classic tune. He does a really good job. I especially love the scenes from the 1969 performance. I dig that cool space age set. Cheers!
I love Tom Jones! I've heard him do this song before, but I've never seen this particular clip. You always post the neatest things.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it. I figured you would. I know you're a big fan of Tom Jones. He is awesome.
ReplyDeleteYoutube is a goldmine for 'the Jones' - there's some great duets on there - have you seen this clip of him with Englebert and Billy Preston

Thanks for the comments. No, I hadn't seen that clip before. I appreciate the link. Very cool. I love all this great Tom Jones stuff out there. That's awesome about his new tune. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThat was a neat clip Keith Thanks very much for posting it. I liked the two different time periods of the 60's and now.

Hey Glenn. Glad you liked it. I thought it was pretty cool how this clip went back and forth between the two eras. I definitely dig the 60's one. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteGreat clip from Tom Jones! If you look at the clip from the 60's you see definitely the Star Trek influence but what struck me the most were the vibes of that era what's coming through this clip and song that we are so missing now in our "modern" (?) times! In my opinion the entertainment world now has become a hard and harsh place ruled by money! Oh,... and craftsmanship is great in this 60's song and not ruled by the reality show generated freaks of our times! God, I am born in the wrong decade! LOL
ReplyDeleteHey Mirko. Glad you enjoyed it. It is really cool. Oh yeah. You can definitely see the influence from Star Trek. I much prefer the scenes from the 60's performance. It looked like so much fun. There was a different vibe and energy going on then. Now the entertainment biz is just focused on making money. We've lost so much of that magic and luster of the past. Our modern times can be so dull and uninspiring. They rarely bring a smile to my face like these older clips. I was born too late myself. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteTom still puts on a killer show and his RELOADED LP is one of my favorites frrom the past decade or so...
ReplyDeleteHey Jeremy. I agree with you. Tom is still awesome. His voice is still powerful. He's making a lot of good music today.
