Here is Robbie Williams doing his version of My Way at the Royal Albert Hall. I think he does a pretty good job with it, but he's still no Frank Sinatra. That's the man who owns this song. Let me know what you think. Cheers!
Hey pallie Keith, gotta fess up that I likes dig Robbie so much more then the frankie...but of course the dude that oughta sang this song is our Dino...just have to share with you again the Dinolyrics I created just for our Dino....
And, once there was a time, the mops, they thought that they were tops But, then I knew what t'do, I sang a song and they were gone. I've sang 'bout amore lots, I've shared my love with every pallie. And, more, much more then this, I did it my way!.
Hey pallie DMP. Why am I not surprised you dissed on Frankie like that!?! lol I still love Frankie's version the best. Sorry pallie. I do think it would have been cool to hear Dino do this song. I do love those lyrics. Thanks for the comments. Hope you have a Dinoawesome weekend. Cheers!
NO COMMENT! HA! JUST KIDDING PALLIE KEITH. I WON'T DISS ON FRANKIE, BUT I WILL SAY THAT I PREFER DINO TO ANY MAN'S VOICE. I APPRECIATE DINO'S PALLIES TALENTS VERY MUCH INDEED, AND SO THANKS FOR POSTING. DINOGAL
Hey pallie Terri. LOL Thanks for the comments. I know my pallies up here love doing some Frankie bashing. It's all good though. I don't care. He's not even my second favorite Rat Packer. That's Sammy. Have a good weekend. Cheers!
Hey Glenn. I actually totally agree with you. I don't Robbie's version is bad. I think the song has more weight behind it when it's a singer who has more age behind him. That's one of the reasons why I think Sinatra's version is so powerful.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog. I really appreciate it. I'll return the favor at your blog. If you would like to exchange links with me, then please feel free to let me know. Have a great day.
I like Robbie. He's definitely no Sinatra though. It's still a good performance.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Glad you liked it. Yeah, of course, nobody can do this tune quite like Frankie.

ReplyDeleteHi Keith.
ReplyDeleteMy way is a song that just sounds better when an "older" singer is doing it.
Just my opinion.
