I'm not sure what kind of record this chick is listening to. I still thought it was a cool pic to post. She's a pretty girl, plus I dig that stereo and chair she's got. I could imagine her relaxing and listening to some Dino tunes like Gentle On My Mind. I hope you enjoy this video clip of Dino performing this song on his show. Plus there's some banter from Dino at the end. Cheers!
Hey Sid. Thanks for letting me know what it was. That's cool that you've got that pic too. Somebody sent it to me on myspace, but I couldn't remember who it was.
Great pic, and great version of the song. The John Hartford original will forever be my definitive version, but Dean swings the number up and makes me ask, Glenn who?
Hey T.L. Thanks for the comments. I had been planning on posting that pic on one of my two blogs. I just got the inspiration to post it on this one. I grew up hearing Dino's version of this song quite often. Cheers!
Hey Dave. Thanks for the comments. Glad you liked the pic and video. They just don't make them like they once did. There have been some other good versions of this song. Love the word verification. That was cool.
I have so many pleasant memories of those concole stereos, which were really pieces of furniture! Same with TVs of the time. My grandparents would have their blonde-wood console stereo tuned in to the local "Beautiful Music" station and their house was so peaceful and calming with the sounds of Percy Faith, Ray Conniff, and Henry Mancini playing...sun streaming into 1970s room of late afternoon nostalgia...ah, sounds like something out of Kerouac! ;)
Hey C.K. Thanks for those great comments. Man, I can almost imagine it in my head. I'm trying to remember what my grandparents had. They had something like this, but I know it wasn't the same thing. I always loved it. You knew that when you came into their house they were going to have some music on. That's where I discovered the sounds of Dino, etc.
Hey pallie Keith, dude great clip of our Dino...knows that my door is always open to our Dino...he certainly is always on my mind...diggs all our great man's great moves as he croons this Dinotune...and the Dinopater is so so Dinoriffic...oh, to return to the days when Dino walked the earth....
Hey pallie DMP. Thanks for those great comments. Glad you enjoyed this clip. I really dig it myself. I love this tune, plus it's such an awesome clip of it. Cheers!
thank you soo much, keith! it's freddy's joy to receive lovely comments.
i'm glad you're back in blogging.
yes i agree. i love this woman's photo. she looks very restful in a very stylish transparent chair. and i wish i still had my vintage stereo! hayyyy....
Hey Proudly. Thanks for the comments. I really do love the pics that you post of you and Mr. Freddy. You two wear such stylish outfits. Glad you liked this pic. I thought it was really cool. I would love to have a chair and stereo like that. Cheers!
Love the "chick pic", but she looks like too much of a square to listen to the likes of a Dean Martin record. She's probably listening to something like Herman's Hermits and fantasizing about Davy Jones. (No offense to HH fans, but they make my ears sad.)
Hey Fast Eddie. Thanks for the comments. They were pretty funny. There's no telling what that chick was listening to. Now I've got the Monkees in my head. I hate to say that I actually like some of their tunes.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog. I really appreciate it. I'll return the favor at your blog. If you would like to exchange links with me, then please feel free to let me know. Have a great day.
Something very 'A Clockwork Orange' about that picture--I dig it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Dual HiFi machine from 1970-72.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic from Dual... Uncle Sid has it too ;-)
Hey Rev. Glad you like that pic too. I thought it was very cool.

ReplyDeleteLove that hi-fi and Dino smoking a gasper on set - you wouldn't get that now..Elvis and Frank both do great versions too
ReplyDeleteVerification word was 'purists' - that's about right...
I really like first photo!

ReplyDeleteI'd love to be the girl in that photo. She does have one cool hi-fi and chair. I'd be listening to Rat Pack records all the time on that thing.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a cool chair.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phoebe. I know what you mean. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Take care. Cheers!
