I Am King By Sean Combs

I think it's important for a man to smell nice. I've been looking for a new fragrance to try out. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks for any advice.

Anybody know what sort of cologne any of the Rat Packers might have worn? I have no clue about that.

I've seen all the promotion for I Am King by Sean Combs. I wasn't sure if it was a good scent or not. I've read some mixed reaction about it. I will admit that I like the marketing for it though. It's promoting a lifestyle and attitude that I'm sure many men will find appealing.

Here are some ads for it, plus a mini-movie (it's like five minutes long) that I hope you will check out.

  1. I think what I find most off-putting about I Am King is that he really believes it...
..it's like, dude, get over yourself..

  6. Diddy is such a pimp! Love the heli shot!

And what a fun query about the Rat Packers' cologne . . . will mull that one over.

Hope you had a great weekend, K!

  9. I forgot to mention this. I almost hate to because you will probably poke fun. The only thing my husband uses is Old Spice.

  10. I'm not going to make fun. Most of the guys in my family used that when I was growing up. Many of them still do. I've used it myself over the years.

  11. It smells surprisingly good actually, I thought I would hate it. I'm still loving my more traditional fragrances like Hermes Bel Ami or something like Dolce and Gabbana The One. Oh, and I hope you're Easter weekend was a good one :)

  14. Diddy is definitely pretty into himself - you're right, this is definitely selling a lifestyle type image!

  15. They could've rocked Aqua Velva or English Leather, but a little less "blue-collar" were Chanel Pour Monsieur and Aramis.

As for you, may I suggest Envy by Gucci? Smashing, that.

  18. Hey Allison. We definitely know he doesn't suffer from low self esteem. lol I think this is selling a lifestyle as much as a fragrance itself.

  21. Never really cared for Sean Coombs, but the ads are very stylish. Maybe the rat pack put whiskey behind their ears for a nice manly scent :-) !! lol!

Thanks for stopping by the blog and commenting Keith, always appreciated. Nice to know someone out there is reading it!

  22. Thanks for the comments. I'm not that big a fan of Combs. I like some of the things he does, but I think he's full of himself.

I like your idea about what the Rat Pack used for their cologne. lol

You are very welcome. I like your blog a lot. Thanks for stopping by mine.

  23. Cologne and appearance go hand in hand. To pull of cologne with a desired effect it's best to stimulate the eyes and nose at the same time. Dress nicely, it doesn't have to be a suit but put a little effort into it and you'll find your results skyrocketing. Different colognes work well on different people too. Asking the sales clerks for advice isn't generally your best bet, they just want to sell. Finally, when using cologne, don't bathe in it. A little goes a long way. Ultimately get a scent you enjoy - you're the one that has to smell it the most. Go sniff around and see what you like!

  25. I heard once on a tv show that was featuring a modern-day rocker (forget who) obsessed by Sinatra that he (FS) loved Yardley's English Lavender. This guy had the liquid soap in his bathroom for this reason! Don't know if Frank would've worn it as a fragrance....
