This doesn't feature any members of the Rat Pack or any of their pallies. I still thought it was very relevant to what this blog is all about. I love this ad from Seagram's. It definitely promotes a certain lifestyle. It's got a very classy look about it. I really like it. I hope you do too. I want a martini. Cheers!
Great ad! I can't help but use the old cliche, but women looked like women back then, and not girls going through their second teen years. And the guy looks cool, too, in a Neo-Edwardian sort of way.
ReplyDeleteI like these occasional departures. They're still related to the subject at hand, and Dino helped perpetuate this, so keep 'em coming, pally Keith!
Gin Martini - what is that sounds right up my booze alley, I'm gonna have to track some down now..
ReplyDeleteCheck out the all ways vs. always in the ad. On the rocks or up? Olive or lemon?
ReplyDeleteUber glamorous! A man in a tuxedo is just about the sexiest thing around!
ReplyDeleteHope you are well Keith :-)
Hey pallie Keith, very classic...how cool if it woulda been our Dino...does makes me wonder if the J&B pallies ever sought to have our Dino promote their liquid refreshment....
ReplyDeleteHey C.K. Thanks. I'm glad you liked this ad. I totally agree with you. Women did look like women. Today so many look like young girls. The men were classy. They didn't look like a bunch of bums. I try to keep things on this blog related to that Rat Pack type of lifestyle in some form or fashion, even if it's not a pic of Dino, etc.
ReplyDeleteHey Dave. I know what you mean. I wanna do some drinking this weekend. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Jim. I know what you mean. This ad has me wanting to try out some different drinks.
ReplyDeleteHey Veronica. Thanks. I'm doing well. Glad you liked this pic. Yeah, I really like to see a man in a tux. It's very classy.
ReplyDeleteHey pallie DMP. Thanks. It is a cool ad. It would have been neat to see Dino in such an ad. I've been trying to find ads featuring him. I thought this pic definitely had a cool vibe to it.
ReplyDeleteI love a man in a tux. It does make him look classic and handsome.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phoebe. I think this is a really cool pic. I wish I got a chance to wear a tux more.
ReplyDeleteLove that ad, but can you make mine a vodka martoooooni?

Hey Carrie. Of course. Your wish is my desire. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteIt kind reminds me of that old quote, "Let's get out of that wet suit and into a dry martini"
ReplyDeleteSalute!
Woah love it, they both look amazing! And it's true, nice to see a more mature couple, rather than young teens, they look all the more amazing in the black dress and tux :)
ReplyDeleteI do wish more men felt like you fellas here. Maybe we wouldn't have so many old jeans & t-shirts everywhere. I do like it when men dress like men and women like women! (Not meaning in a sexist way, but in a grown-up way, like said before!)
ReplyDeleteSuch style... you're making me crave a martini! *bises*
ReplyDeleteHey JB. Good one. I know what you mean. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Dapper. Thanks. Glad you liked this ad. It's great to see people older than 21 in an ad. Plus they are both dressed so classy. It makes me want to drink this more.
ReplyDeleteHey Tikimama. Thanks for the comments. I love to see men and women dress up. We live in a culture where very few people dress up anymore. I'm tired of seeing people go around all the time in a t-shirt, shorts & flip flops.
ReplyDeleteHey Gabbi. I hope you get that martini. Cheers!
ReplyDeletethe title of your post sounds like an awesome weekend!
ReplyDeletecool Ad, i'm kinda feeling all these old ads u post up, makes me want to experience those times :o]
ReplyDeleteThanks Diana. I hadn't thought of that, but it would make for a cool weekend.
ReplyDeleteHey Terence. Thanks. That's great to hear. I know what you mean. I would love to experience this era.
ReplyDeleteCould that be a young Bruce Campbell?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure who it is.
ReplyDeleteKeith: Do you have a larger version of this Seagram's ad that you could email me? I'd sure appreciate it! My email is on my blog page.
ReplyDeleteHey C.K. I just emailed you the bigger size of this ad. I guess you definitely liked this one. Cheers!
ReplyDeletei love it! very classy! hope you're having an awesome week keith!
