Put On That Tux & Have A Martini

This doesn't feature any members of the Rat Pack or any of their pallies. I still thought it was very relevant to what this blog is all about. I love this ad from Seagram's. It definitely promotes a certain lifestyle. It's got a very classy look about it. I really like it. I hope you do too. I want a martini. Cheers!

  1. Great ad! I can't help but use the old cliche, but women looked like women back then, and not girls going through their second teen years. And the guy looks cool, too, in a Neo-Edwardian sort of way.

I like these occasional departures. They're still related to the subject at hand, and Dino helped perpetuate this, so keep 'em coming, pally Keith!

  2. Gin Martini - what is that sounds right up my booze alley, I'm gonna have to track some down now..

  3. Check out the all ways vs. always in the ad. On the rocks or up? Olive or lemon?

  4. Uber glamorous! A man in a tuxedo is just about the sexiest thing around!

Hope you are well Keith :-)

  5. Hey pallie Keith, very classic...how cool if it woulda been our Dino...does makes me wonder if the J&B pallies ever sought to have our Dino promote their liquid refreshment....

  6. Hey C.K. Thanks. I'm glad you liked this ad. I totally agree with you. Women did look like women. Today so many look like young girls. The men were classy. They didn't look like a bunch of bums. I try to keep things on this blog related to that Rat Pack type of lifestyle in some form or fashion, even if it's not a pic of Dino, etc.

  10. Hey pallie DMP. Thanks. It is a cool ad. It would have been neat to see Dino in such an ad. I've been trying to find ads featuring him. I thought this pic definitely had a cool vibe to it.

  15. It kind reminds me of that old quote, "Let's get out of that wet suit and into a dry martini"

    Salute!

  16. Woah love it, they both look amazing! And it's true, nice to see a more mature couple, rather than young teens, they look all the more amazing in the black dress and tux :)

  17. I do wish more men felt like you fellas here. Maybe we wouldn't have so many old jeans & t-shirts everywhere. I do like it when men dress like men and women like women! (Not meaning in a sexist way, but in a grown-up way, like said before!)

  20. Hey Dapper. Thanks. Glad you liked this ad. It's great to see people older than 21 in an ad. Plus they are both dressed so classy. It makes me want to drink this more.

  21. Hey Tikimama. Thanks for the comments. I love to see men and women dress up. We live in a culture where very few people dress up anymore. I'm tired of seeing people go around all the time in a t-shirt, shorts & flip flops.
