Dino, Desi & Billy Strike A Pose

Dean Paul, the son of Dean Martin, formed a group in the 1960's with his friends Desi Arnaz, Jr. (the son of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball) and Billy Hinsche (who would later go on to work with the Beach Boys). The name of the group was Dino, Desi & Billy. They became teen heartthrobs. The boys had several hit tunes, including I'm A Fool and Not The Lovin' Kind. Here are some photos of the boys together. I thought it was really cool to come across so many great photos of the band.

P.S. Has anybody been having any problems with Blogger? I'll have my posts set up for a certain time. Sometimes they don't come up when they should. I'm then having to go in and manually post them. I've been trying to have my posts set up for midnight (eastern standard time). That way when I get up in the morning, I might already have some comments to respond to. Now with my posts not always showing up when I schedule them, I'm having to make sure I come up here and post them manually. That defeats a lot of the purpose of setting them up for midnight. Plus I'm not able every single night to be up here at midnight to make sure they are posted. I'm worried that I'm going to have to delay my posts until the next morning. When I come up here at around 9am or so, I might have to post them then. I'm not sure. I'm going to give it a few more days to see what's going on. I hope this will straighten itself out.

  1. They sure look young! Cool pics.

Keith, no Blogger trouble to report, but I don't schedule posts the way you're describing. Good luck

  7. Hey Scott. Thanks. I've had a few people say they've had other problems with blogger. Quite a few didn't know that you could schedule the time and date.

  8. Hey Allison. Thanks I'm glad I could let you know about this band. They had quite a few hits back then. They were one of the big teen groups in the 60's. You are very welcome about the award. You deserve it. I love reading your blog. Thanks about my blogger problems.

  9. Hey Amy. Dean Paul was killed in a plane crash years ago. Not sure what's up with either of the other two these days. I'll have to look around.

  14. That's a cool looking guitar and bass. I don't think I've ever heard of the group though. You sure they had hits?

Have you tried having the posts go at 12:01? Sometimes the midnight thing confuses computers.

  15. Hey pallie DMP. Glad you liked these photos. I thought they were really cool when I came across them.

I started doing them manually in the beginning, but I realized that I could set them up for a certain time and date. It's always worked fine.

Sure thing. I'd be interviewed with by your blog. Sounds great.

  16. Hey Robert. Yeah, they did have several hits back in the 60's. One song charted #17 and another one #25. They had some other minor hits.

It's always worked at midnight. I've never had a problem before. This just started last week. It's mostly been with my other blog.

  18. great photos as usual K.

i have the same problem here and there with posts i set to drop at a certain time too. not often but every once in awhile. usually happens if i set it to drop a few weeks ahead of time. if i set in the same week no problem. if set a 2 weeks or more ahead of time it's hit or miss.

  22. Young and talented, they look amazing as a group. And I think I'm having the same Blogger problems, quite a few of my scheduled posts as of late have not posted, so I've had to post them myself at a later time.

  24. Hey wiec? Thanks. It was nice hearing from you. Maybe my problem was that I had too many weeks set ahead. I'm not sure. I think I'm going to experiment with it all some to see what's going on.

  25. Hey Chessa. I'm glad I could introduce you to the band. Sorry to hear you've had problems too. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I'm probably going to stick with blogger, but I do want to revamp my blog some.

  29. Love the photos as well, the short trousers and the violin bass.

I've been having trouble with the blogger timing for more than a week now. I usually set mine for about 8 or 9am E/T and had to go in manually do it or text someone to do it for me. Big inconvenience Blogger!!

  30. What an awesome find! Dig those seriously groovy haircuts and fashions! Thank you for posting these shots, Keith, they're oodles of fun to look at! :)

(Yes, I've been having that very same Blogger issue for some time, now too - much to my chagrin. Blogger has acknowledged it (http://blogger-forum-announcements.blogspot.com/2009/06/scheduled-posts-currently-not-working.html), but I'm not sure if/when a fix will take place. I truly hope they remedy the problem soon though, I really loved taking advantage of that handy feature.)

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Sorry you've had trouble with blogger. I'll have to check out that link. I had no clue there was any problems going on until last week. I loved setting the time and date. That was very handy if I had several posts already lined up.

  38. Hi Keith! Great pictures as usual! We really like the band pictures...didn't even know they had formed one ever! You learn something new everyday =)

We haven't had any problems with Blogger but we also haven't been posting pre-set posts. One of our readers did inform us that our blog wasn't loading correctly and/or was inaccessible for quite some time though.

    Have a great weekend!

  39. Hey Meg & Komie. Thanks. I appreciate the response. Glad you liked the pics. That's cool that I could let you in on this band.

I've heard from different people who have had other problems with blogger besides this one. It seems to have sorted itself out right now. Hopefully it will stay straight. Have a great weekend.
