Dean Martin Moonlights At The Casino, Plus I Need Your Advice
I love this picture of Dean Martin working the roulette wheel at the casino. I had goofed up and originally posted that he was dealing cards. It shows how much I was paying attention. Either that or I need new glasses. lol Could you imagine being one of the people playing at this table? That would have been so cool. Dino was actually a card shark at one time in his youth.
I'll be taking Monday, September 7th, which is Labor Day here in the United States off from the blog. I wish all my fellow Americans a great holiday weekend. I'll be back here on Tuesday, September 8th. I wish everybody a safe and fun weekend. Any plans for the weekend?
P.S. I'm seeking some advice. It's got to do with PayPal. I've got an account with them. I've used it to buy things. I've got a donate button on this blog. I've had some people throw me a few dollars here and there as a tip. I was curious though about using PayPal as a method of payment if I started selling products. I had mentioned before that I'm considering making some items and selling them. I thought about trying it out without getting involved with anything like Etsy or eBay. I need to figure out what I'm going to sell. Plus I'll have to figure up a price point and my shipping costs. I was wondering though how easy it was to use PayPay to have people pay you for your products. I wasn't sure if you had to set up some special account with PayPal or could use your current account. Plus I'm not quite sure yet how to go about all of it. Any ideas at all? I would greatly appreciate it. If you would rather talk about such matters in email, please feel free to email me. You can leave a comment here at the blog about the Dean Martin photo and correspond with me by email about my questions. Or if you would rather go ahead and offer your insights here, then that's cool by me too. It's up to you. Thanks so much.
I love that photo. I'm not sure if I would want him as my dealer or not. I would be so mesmerized by him that I would screw up my hand. lol
ReplyDeleteHe's not dealing cards, he's playing a roulette dealer :o). I've always enjoyed a spin of roulette more than being dealt a hand anyway haha.
ReplyDeletePaypal is super-easy to use. Do not have any hesitation whatsoever. They have a great customer service support as well in case you have any questions!
Hey Phoebe. Thanks for commenting. You would probably mess up and lose the game just because of checking out Dino.
ReplyDeleteHey Vogue. Oops. I guess I should have paid more attention to what he was doing in the picture. Maybe I need my glasses changed or something. lol I might change up the post some then. Thanks for the advice. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Keith, maybe you are just tired and eye sight will be better after your long weekend...lol...
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment on my last post, and I wish you a wonderful long weekend.
Colin
Hey Colin. Thanks. Who knows with me. I do hope to definitely rest and relax some this holiday weekend. Take care. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteAren't you about 40? You are just getting old and can't see. lol Just kidding, man.
ReplyDeletekeith, i like the retro pics you posted in your blog.
ReplyDeletehonestly. i can't really help you for now. I wanted to sell something too but don't know how to figure out the shipping etc. i opened a paypal account 2 months ago and i used it once.
http://momfashionworld.blogspot.com/
Hey Wolf. At least I'm a man and not a boy. What are you, like 12? I'm just messing with ya. I'll be 40 in less than 2 years. Oh well. You either get older or you die.
ReplyDeleteHey Mom. Thanks for commenting. Glad you like the pics I post. I appreciate the feedback on my questions. I've had the account for awhile, but I've used it mostly for buying stuff. I wanted to see what else I could do.
ReplyDeleteYou have a freakin cool blog sweetie!. So glad to have found you. Come stop by today and enter the Thursday book giveaway...
ReplyDeleteI think it's pretty easy to upgrade to a business account on Pay Pal. I did that when I used to sell rare cereals from one of my old sites.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog BTW!
I'll be using Labor day weekend to get ready for my first annual Tiki Party. I have a singing Dean Martin statue that will be decked out with a lei and hula skirt. I'll post pics after the party is over.
Cheers.. Drink up and be somebody!!
I can't answer the PayPal question. However in regards to my weekend - I work Saturday. However I have Sunday through Tuesday off. And *sighs* Tuesday I turn 33. I'll be at Disneyland that day.
ReplyDeleteNot entirely happy to turn 33 as I thought my life would be a lot different at this age.
I don't know how I'd react to Dino at the wheel. Course I'm not big on gambling. And my favorite member of the Rat Pack is Sammy. However, once the ice is broken, I'm usually pretty comfortable with anyone, even celebs. I'd probably just be myself. I'm just always shy until someone else takes the lead and talks to me first.
Hey Keith! I've only used PayPal through ebay and etsy? I'm not sure how else to do it to be honest... have you thought about opening an etsy? It's really cheap to list things there, it's like a quarter or something (flat rate) and it would give you a second place to network and advertise what you're selling.
ReplyDeleteWish I could help out with the PayPal thing, Keith, but I have no idea--but I see people using it all the time to sell personal products and such. Some of them do not seem that bright, so it must not be that difficult. Good luck!
ReplyDeletehello Keith that is a great photo, they just dont do elegance like that anymore.
ReplyDeletethank you for the link exchange request, would love to.
You are now in my link list.
x
Marian
p.s I'm sorry im useless with Paypal but do consider contacting Paypal direct for the best advice.
Don't know about Paypal I'm afraid, but that's one hell of a cool picture. Have a great long weekend Keith!
ReplyDeleteroulette and b&w, beautiful!
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend, Keith!
I agree with the picture.;))
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I know very little (nothing) about PayPal.
Have a lovely Labor day weekend and a nice time off.;)
And thank you for you very kind comment at my place yesterday.;)
I've used Paypal for years Keith and never had any problems - You will have to setup an account, and like all these things seems more fussy than it really is at first - but stick with it.
ReplyDeleteGoogle Checkout is worth checking out too..
:o] cool foto, cnt help u wit Paypal sorry :o[
ReplyDeleteHey Laura. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I'm glad you like my blog. I appreciate that. I'll check out that giveaway. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Dad. Thanks for the advice on PayPal. Wow. Your tiki party sounds so cool. Definitely post pics. I love what you're doing with that Dino statue. Have fun. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Jami. Thanks for commenting. I hope you have a great weekend. Happy Early Birthday. Have fun at Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteI'm 38. I'll be 39 on my birthday in December. I really thought my life would be different than it is now.
Sammy is actually my second member of the Rat Pack. I can be shy around people I don't know. It can take me awhile to liven up.
Hey Gabbi. Thanks for the advice. I had considered Etsy. I wasn't sure. I've seen people on their websites and even on MySpace pages using PayPal to place orders. That got me curious. I think it's all something I'm going to have to look more into before I figure out something.
ReplyDeleteHey Rev. Thanks. I've seen people on websites, myspace, etc. using paypal. I know it's been doing like I'm thinking about. I'm just not sure how. It's probably something I'm going to have to figure out on my own. I had just been curious as if anyone here had any knowledge or experience with that.
ReplyDeleteHey Marian. Glad you liked this photo. Thanks for adding my blog to your links. I'm going to get ready and add you too. I appreciate it. Thanks anyway about paypal. I'm probably going to have to figure this one out on my own. If I have no much trouble, I'll contact paypal. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cocktails. Glad you dig that pic of Dino. Enjoy the weekend. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bjorn. I hope you enjoy your weekend too. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Protege. Thanks. Glad you liked this photo. That's okay about PayPal. I hope you will enjoy your weekend. Take care. You are welcome about my comment. I appreciate your comment here. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Dave. Thanks for the advice. Do you have to set up another account to do this or not on PayPal? I've already got a PayPal account that I've used. Thanks for the tip on Google Checkout. I'll look into that. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Terence. Thanks. Enjoy your weekend. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteKeith, Paypal is very easy to use and a secure way to receive payment for any goods you sell. I've been using it for 3 years, and it's excellent. You can doubtless stick with the account you've already got and use it to receive payments and also to buy stuff with if the seller also has an account. I sell stuff on eBay and then transfer the proceeds into my bank account (after eBay has taken their own large cut). Quick and hassle-free.
ReplyDeleteLet me know if I can help in any way and have a nice weekend. Oh, and hope to see you on Twitter soon.
Great pic!
ReplyDeleteUsing PayPal with ebay is a cinch ~ no new account required. My only prob with them is that they take a cut of everything you earn!
xoxox,
CC
Hey cool cat ~ yup, would of wanted to stand @ a table with Dean. What a memory that would of been.
ReplyDeleteI agree with deep in vogue - paypal is very user friendly. Just have to have a bank account. I've filed claim, etc., & have had decent support as well. It's all a learning process, trial & error. Good luck to you Keith & happy long weekend to you ~ deb
Hey Steve. Thanks so much for the feedback on PayPal. I've had my account since before I started my blogs. I've used it to buy stuff. I had wondered about this. I'll have to check more into it. I definitely might be emailing you about it. Thanks again. I'm hoping to get it on Twitter soon. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Carrie. Glad you like the pic. Thanks for the info. It seems everybody wants their cut.
ReplyDeleteHey Deb. Glad you like the photo. Thanks for the feedback on PayPal. I definitely think that's the route I'm going to do if I do decide to try to sell some wares. Have a great weekend. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI love the action, and the mystery this photo displays. Very nice! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Erika. Thanks. I'm really thrilled that you liked this photo so much.
ReplyDeletehey keith - well, i've not clue about the paypal thing personally - altho my daughters use it regularly - and they do things on ebay all the time - i'm not into ebay but millions of people are so.... good idea though about having some purchase items - and good luck with it - i'll be watching for the sale rack!
ReplyDeleteHey Gypsy. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I've got some good response on my questions by comments here and by email. I'm hoping between that and my own exploration that I'll get it sorted out. I do hope before too long to decide one way or the other. Hopefully I'll have something up for sale that you and others will want to buy.
ReplyDeleteCool Cat, have yourself a great weekend. I have a website where I use paypal and I am happy with it. Although, I am just starting out and don't have a lot of experince yet. But, anyway, go for it and I can't wait to see what you create!!

What a cool picture Keith!
ReplyDeletehmmm, regarding selling things, i think you can use your current paypal account! I use paypal to pay for some items that i buy on ebay so i think it should be straight forward really!
Have a great weekend!!

What an amazing shot, I would totally have loved to have him as my card dealer! With regards to the Paypal question, you can receive payments directly to your account. Then you can transfer it to your bank account easily enough, but be sure to do it when you have a sizeable amount in your Paypal account because there is a small fee. Otherwise it is all relatively simply, you shouldn't have any troubles at all!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend :)
Dear Keith,
ReplyDeletehow are you?? Looking forward to a long weekend is always fine, isn't it? :) I'm still in bed with the laptop on my knees and trying to visit all my favourite blogs :)
OH WOW - I would have loved to be at the same table like Mr Martin! I love the ladies opposite to him, sweet!
I can recommend Paypal! No perfect for intl transactions regarding the currency - but well....
I'm wishing you a super fantastic, wonderful, pleasant, relaxing and gorgeous long weekend, dear!!
xoxo sofie

ReplyDeleteI've been using Paypal for several years now both on Ebay and Etsy and independantly and I've never had a problem with it (touch wood whistle). I say go for it! Love, love, love both your blogs, by the way - big fan!! Please let us know when you start selling - very interested!
ReplyDeleteHey Wheel. Thanks. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteHey Sam. I appreciate the info on PayPal. I definitely think I'm going to be going for it. I'm so happy that you love my blogs. Thank you. I hope you will continue to visit my blogs and comment. I love hearing from people. Enjoy your weekend. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, great photo! I love retro!
ReplyDeleteThanks Meraldia. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteOh look at him. Mr. Roulette dealer haha i love it!
ReplyDeletePayPal is notorious for being fabulous. I would say that you should definitely go forward with using your account to sell things! Good luck!
i love old movies!!
ReplyDeletehttp://jeadorefashion.blogspot.com
Wonderful photo! Regardless of whether I was able to make gains financially, if Dean was the dealer at my table, I'd definitely walk away feeling like a huge winner!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I'm not much of an expert from the selling side of PayPal, more so the buying ;D That said, the few times I have sold via PayPal or otherwise received money for some reason through them it has been an absolute breeze and I did not need to alter any element of my account (again, though I've only ever sold very, very causally). I have no problems to speak of with PayPal and have been pleased with them throughout the nearly six years I've been using their service.
The best of luck with whatever you decide to do and sell, Keith!
♥ Jessica
Hey Clare. Thanks about the photo and paypal. I appreciate it. I hope you're having a great weekend. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Monika. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Jessica. Thanks for commenting. That's how I am about Dino working the tables. Even if I lost, I'd still be happy that I got to be around Dino.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the insights on PayPal. I've had an account with them the last year or so. I've never had any trouble with buying using them at all. I've enjoyed using the service. I had seen that others were using them as a means for payment. I thought maybe that would be a good idea.
haah! I love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteX♥X♥
Thanks Janet. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHi Dino,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting the blog, I am glad you have enjoyed and hope to see you soon.
Hey Eri. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I'll definitely be back there. Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
ReplyDeletehey, thanks. nways, I just saw that you live in north carolina.. I lived in south carolina for a year and almost every weekend I used to go to north carolina.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture. One of those you would love to see in real life ;-) I am sorry, but I can't help you with your PayPal problem. I only use it to buy interesting stuff on eBay.
ReplyDeleteDean was such a cool dude. Bet he won!
ReplyDeleteHey Pri. My late paternal grandmother was born and raised in SC. She moved to NC when she met and marred my grandfather.
ReplyDeleteHey Kristyna. Thanks. Glad you liked this photo of Dino. It is a good one. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Shop. Thanks. Dino seemed to win at everything he did.
Ilove this photo.
ReplyDeleteas for using paypal. I find it to be incredibly simple and i use it all the time. i use it for etsy but i also use personally to pay bills and also when i sell my work outside of etsy. you don't need to get a special account but you probably to want to be a verified seller bc people find it to be more trustworthy.
Hey there. Thanks for the comments. I appreciate it. I definitely think I'm going to go the route of using PayPal. Just wanna read more up on it. Plus I need to figure out what sort of things I plan to sell.
ReplyDeleteThat is one awesome photo
ReplyDeleteThanks Housewife.
