Some Of My Favorite Tunes By The Beatles

the-beatles-abbey-road-album-cover

It seems that you can't turn anywhere these days without seeing something about The Beatles. I've been listening to a lot more of their music lately because of it. The four lads from Liverpool definitely made some amazing music during their time together. Here are clips of my some of my favorite tunes from the band. They are not in any specific order. I will say that Here Comes The Sun is my favorite song by The Beatles. I think it's a beautiful song, plus it's sung by George Harrison (my favorite Beatle). These are not by any means all the songs of theirs I love. So what is your favorite song by The Beatles? Who is your favorite Beatle?

Here Comes The Sun:

Revolution:

Twist and Shout:

Let It Be:

Come Together:

I Saw Her Standing There:

Yesterday:

I Want To Hold Your Hand:

Can't Buy Me Love:

Hey Jude:

  2. Thanks Phoebe. That's actually my second favorite song by them. Paul is the favorite of both my mom and sis. My bro loves John. Not sure who my dad likes. I doubt it's Ringo though. lol

  4. Hey Jude is my favorite. I'm so excited I found your blog because I've been in looove with Dino since I was a baby (literally, my grandma and grandpa would play his records as when I was an infant).

And is that Cary Grant as youd default? I can't really tell. Thanks for keeping the classics alive! I'd love to follow your blog if you follow me too? Let me know on my comments! :)

  7. "Can't buy me love" is such an incredible classic from their early years - love it! ...and "Hey Jude" - I love the way it builds and at the end it's an epic force of nature!! I Love, love Abbey Road, Let it be, The White Album and Sgt Peppers!! Maybe Abbey ROad is my fave - and fave beatle - John although George is pretty special too. Super post Keith - sorry for the ramble!!

  8. Have you bought the Remasters Keith I'm very tempted..fave Fabs song tough call as it always changes, but you can find a few here along with out-takes, alt.takes, covers and bootleg remixes - but at the moment I'm obsessed with side 2 of Abbey Road - pure genius. I've visited several Beatles Liverpool sites, but there are actually more in London and I've ticked off a few of those too..

PS check out Charlie Dore's 'Here Comes the Sun' you'll love it!

Oh and fave Beatle Paul (my middle name is Paul because of Macca)

I've actually got a Cary Grant post coming up in a week or two.

  16. Hey La Flore. Thanks. That is so cool. I'm not as familiar with that tune as some of the others. I'll have to check it out.

  17. J'adore The Beatles. I've always had a soft spot for the song Penny Lane - fueled by my passion for the film Almost Famous, of course. Love these videos. My favorite Beatle has always been a toss up between John and Paul! :)

  18. My favorite Beatles song changes a lot. Right now I love "Blackbird." I grew up loving the Sgt. Pepper's record and was fascinated with the lyrics and the album art.

  20. Just a couple of days ago, I was cheching out this cover! Did you see the news about the men at the cover? An american tourist, I guess, who is 92 years-old who was tripping in London. At the time, he said, he gad no idea who the Beatles was and he thought that they are sort of street people who were messing around with their bare foot!
    hahahah

    fun story :)

  21. Hey Erika. Thanks for commenting. I love that song. I do love Almost Famous. John and Paul are both cool. I hope you'll have a great weekend. Take care. Cheers!

  27. Hey Protege. Thanks so much. You've left my favorite comment. Of course, I just had to say that since you have the same favorite song and Beatle. I do love "Something" too.

  29. The Beatles and their music are timeless, as the current "stars" of music pass into obscurity, the Beatles will remain. It's something Frank,Sammy & Dino have achieved,Elvis will always be remembered and even Michael Jackson will be remembered. I'm not sure my favorite band will be remembered in 40 years (the Ramones) but i hope so.

    George is my favorite.

  30. Have to admit I've never liked The Beatles, but recognise that for many, they were the ultimate. Good to see you paying tribute. One of my work colleagues saw them live very early in their career, and recalls John Lennon was ill that night and couldn't play the gig.

  35. As far as I'm concerned, you cannot go wrong the Beatles., from their mop-top years through the psychedelia.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Some good stuff here! We just don't have anything like these guys now days and we probably never will again.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I find it extremely hard to pick one single Beatle or song so I normally like to pick era ('64-'66). Lately I've been itching to hear Harrison tunes from the last 2 albums b/c he arguably outwrote John! Paul from 68-70 definitely was at his apex when things was getting a bit sticky....

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh I DO dig the beatles, George is my favourite. My favourite albums of theirs have got to be abbey road and the white album - awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hey Drake. Great comment. I really enjoyed it. That is so true. The Beatles are timeless. They are timeless cool. That never goes out of style. People hundreds of years in the future will still listen to the Beatles as well as the Rat Pack, Elvis, and some others. Glad to see your favorite Beatle is George.

  40. Hey Steve. Thanks for commenting. I'm actually a bigger fan of the Rolling Stones, but I do like the Beatles. They definitely made a major contribution to pop culture and beyond. That's cool about your friend. That's a shame that John wasn't there though.

  41. Hey kpeach. Those are both such beautiful songs. I love them.

Hey Carrie. Thanks. I definitely wanted to do a post on the Fab Four.

  43. Thanks Cancha. I appreciate that.

Hey Richard. Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.

  44. Hey Scott. Thanks. I totally agree. What's so cool in that they had such a variety in style and music over such a short span in time. Some bands don't evolve that much in 30 years.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey Mrs. B. Thanks. I totally agree. The Beatles were a one of a kind band. I don't think we'll ever see anybody quite like them again.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hey JFK. Thanks for commenting. They had some really great music throughout the years. It's neat to pick a time period and really delve into it. I love the stuff George did. I'm a big fan of his solo career as well.

  49. Hey Juliet. Thanks for commenting. Great to hear from you. Enjoy your weekend.

  50. Ah, I'm a sucker for Yesterday ... the most re-recorded song in history. My favorite beatle used to be Paul (when I was younger, he was cute!), but as I grew older I learned to appreciate and understand John more.

xoxoxo Have a wonderful weekend Keith!

  51. Hey Veronica. Thanks for commenting. I do love yesterday. That's neat that your favorite Beatle changed over the years. Take care. Enjoy the weekend.

  54. Ahhh yes, I love Hey Jude and Yesterday and Revolution.... well pretty much everything on this list. I have the Across the Universe soundtrack that I listen to constantly, they do such good renditions of these fabulous songs... however, nothing compares to the Beatles themselves.

  58. Deeply awesome post, Keith. The Beatles are my absolute favourite group of all time. Though I'm a child of the 80s, I was fortunate enough to grow up with folks who had a passion for classic rock, thus I was routinely exposed to the Beatles and their amazing music.

I like so, so very many Beatles songs, but my absolute favourite is "Let It Be". John takes the cake as my favourite member, though I really do love all four lads! :)

Hope you have a great weekend!

Hey Jessica. Thanks. I was born in 1970. I remember when John was killed. I think that's when I really realized what an impact this band had on the world. I grew up loving their music. They definitely made an impact on the world of music and beyond that no other band since has been able to replicate.

Hey Libby. Thanks. I'm glad to hear you are such a huge fan of the Beatles. They are very awesome. I'm happy you enjoyed this post.

  76. Funny thing about trying to pick a favorite Beatles song, through the years it keeps changing for me! Currently I'm kinda loving "The Long and Winding Road". Paul is said to have hated the production of it and preferred the original 'unplugged' version. Phil Spector (crazy maniac, but the man knew his music) produced it and is responsible for the lush full orchestration and chorus. With all respect to Sir Paul, I think Spector was right. Think about it: here it is, the last released Beatles album, we in the States had been on an amazing 7 year ride with them. It was like the end of this sweeping epic movie called The Beatles. And for me the fully orchestrated "Long And Winding road plays under the final credits of that movie.

I'd be no more successful in trying to pick a favorite member, though I've been fortunate enough to have met both Paul and George. So instead I'll just put in a shout out to Brian Epstein for having had the vision and the drive to help get them where they were going!
