I love these photos. Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin look to be having such a wonderful time. These two really always seemed to love being around one another. They were definitely great pallies.
It would be so cool to open the door to find Sammy as Santa Claus standing there. I wonder what sort of gifts he would be bringing. What would you like Sammy Claus to bring you?
Here are some Christmas songs by Dean Martin. These are videos that people created featuring clips of Dean Martin. I hope you enjoy the songs. I love hearing Dean Martin croon Christmas tunes.
Baby It's Cold Outside: featuring Martina McBride
Let It Snow:
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer:
Jingle Bells:
I'll Be Home For Christmas:
I would like Sammy Davis Santa to bring me every movie ever made with each individual rat packer on DVD. In other words, every Dean Martin movie, every Sinatra movie, every Sammy Davis movie, every thing with Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford! Also Sammy Davis Santa's bag must include for me a collection of video clips of great vegas lounge acts of the 50's and 60's! A great christmas that would be.
ReplyDeleteI love the candid shot of Sammy laughing his heart out... maybe it's about the gift that he'll give Dean.
ReplyDeleteI'll be Home for Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas songs and Dean Martin sang it so well.
Thanks for sharing this Keith!
Great Christmas themed post. They must have had some kicking parties with special egg-nog and yumyums. Would love to find a new record player from Santa. Hoping to do just a little bit of shopping this weekend and relax too. Take it easy and have fun...

ReplyDeleteHe was just great, so love Dean Martin´s voice:)
ReplyDeleteThe're clearly great mates - and gerat selection of seasonal tunes. love the bit on Rudolph when he slips into a German accent
ReplyDeleteYes, Dean was a consummate performer of these tunes. It's rare that a male singer can carry out a corny tune and make it so timelessly, effortlessly cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm listening to the songs now, one by one:) Thanks for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeleteI love these photos. I had never seen these before. I enjoyed the clips. I love Dean singing Christmas songs.

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I went to our Sunday School Christmas party last night. Everybody there brings a gift and a number is put on it. We then draw a number and get the gift with the same number. I had No. 7. My gift turned out to be a Sinatra Christmas CD. It's one I didn't have. I just thought it was so neat that I got such a gift there.
ReplyDeleteboth amazing men. :] mmm j'adore. have a great weekend yourself!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, they look like they're having the bestest time!
ReplyDeleteSammy Davis looks soo cute in the Santa hat! I don't know what I'd want him to bring me as Santa- probably a keepsake from his life/career, but that would probably be asking for a lot! :)
ReplyDeleteKeith I have really enjoyed all your holiday posts. These images of Sammy as santa are gems!
ReplyDeleteI would want him to bring me all the Rat Pack cds!

Love, love, love Dean Martin. I just saw an old episode of "Bewitched" with Sammy on it. He was performing for Major Nelson. It was fun to watch. I've been watching old retro shows lately and loving it!
ReplyDeleteI think I would want Santa Sammy to come as himself. I would love to hear him tell stories about his performing days.
I always loved watching Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr. crack each other up. They never seemed to be able to keep a straight face whenever they would do skits together, sing together, etc. Next thing I know, I'd end up cracking my side as well. Even as a little kid, I enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteIf it were possible, I would love for Sammy Claus to bring me every video ever made of him dancing and singing, even as the way talented little boy that he was.
This is such a great blog. Hope you're having a great weekend.
Great Rudy...the red nosed reindeer!. Very funny Sammy's photos, it makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteling it! LOL. it's so retro!

ReplyDeleteI love american's christmas songs! I like ,,Jingle Bells Rock'' by Brenda Lee best.I don't like winter, but Christmas and snow are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou could just keep those same few songs on repeat until Christmas and I'd be a happy camper. True (and very beloved) classics, thank you for rounding them up into one post, Keith. I'm playing "Let it Snow!" as I type :)
ReplyDeleteTons of holiday cheer & festive wishes!!!

Dean-O was Mom's favorite...as for Sammy...
ReplyDeleteHe could stop by ANY time as long as he sang:
Lord, You Gave Me a Mountain
A TRUE all-around entertainer...loved by SO many.
