I'm posting here Frank's cover of the Beatles classic tune Something. Frank definitely makes the song his own. I really enjoy his take on this song. Something was actually one of Sinatra's favorite songs to perform in concert. I'm also posting the promo video that the Beatles did for this #1 hit of theirs, which was written and sung by my favorite Beatle George Harrison on their 1969 classic album Abbey Road. This is actually one of my favorite songs by the Beatles. I do wish George had been given more of an opportunity to write and sing songs for the Beatles during their time together. I hope you enjoy these two clips.
Ahhhhhh, you are too nice Keith & your post's too!

I can never get enough of good ole Frank but I think George Harrison does a better rendition of this song :-)
ReplyDeleteFrank would make anything his own I think, great clips.
ReplyDeleteYeah it is a shame about George.

Love the smooth and cool version of Sinatra's Something. It's so snazzy!
ReplyDeleteAh! I was going to feature that exact song by Beatles for my Flashback Friday.;) Sinatra is actually quiet good performing the cover, but no one does it as well as George.;))
ReplyDeleteBy the way, did you know that the cool blond at the start of the Beatles video is Patsy, the inspiration for Clapton's Layla?;)
Have a great day.;)

Yes he adds his uniqeness, but I prefer this tune sang by Mr Harrison...
ReplyDeleteLove the Frank Sinatra rendition...a class act indeed. Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteMusic aside, I dig on The Beatles' fashion in this video.
ReplyDeleteI had goosebumps while listening to Frankie sing that song... he is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThen I listened to George in the music video, still having goosebumps. Both clips are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI love this, Keith, thank you very much for posting it. I'd never seen this pairing (Frank covering the Beatles) before and loved kicking off my morning with it.

ReplyDeleteCool song, and the Beatles video was pretty cool too. Didn't realize they put these together. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis couldn't be more up my street Keith.. Yes I'm sure I've heard Sinatra say what a great love song Something is.
ReplyDeleteSinatra said that "Something" was one of the best love song ever recorded and "it never says I love you"... Frank sings that with so much feeling.
ReplyDeleteDon't even get me started on The Beatles, Keith - I love them so much! J'adore both video clips, but I still have to go with The Beatles - they're too amazing! :)

Totally agree with you. George always deserved more than his 2-song-an-album limit that he was held to. Something might have been his best...I like the Sinatra version too.
