Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis Are Comedy Gold

I thought it was time for another vintage post. Here are some photos of one of the greatest comedy duos of all time, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. The team of Martin and Lewis had the Midas touch for a decade. They captured the public's attention on the radio, in nightclubs, on television, in movies, in comics & so much more. They went their separate ways after ten years of creating magic together. They did each go on to very successful careers as solo entertainers. I hope you like these photos.     The Legends are back! This place wouldn't be the same without the occasional Dean and Jerry pics! I can practically smell the smoke and booze in those nightclubs.

    Hello,I hope you are having a great Monday. About World Cup I am enjoying it so far. Too bad about South Korea though, 4-1 with Argentina.I am sure they will do better against Nigeria. Great post, it's always nice to remember the classics. My favorite comedian couple would have to be Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, I remember growing up watching their shows.

    Jerry is great. However, I love the picture of Carry Grant. Fabulous post! I returned from my trip to New Orleans and finally sat down to catch up on my e-mails and blogging.     so sweet. I always remember when I was really little and I'd see an old movie with Jerry, and think..I want somebody to make me laugh like that some day. Of course, it didn't always work out to be the best boyfriends in the world. They said I could never take them seriously.

    i used to think Abbott and Costello was the best but then i found Dean and Jerry...one thing A&C really werent funny in but M&L were absolutly great in was t.v. plus Martin and Lewis had the greatest straight man of all time :)

    I've always thought that Danny Kaye and Bill Crosby played off of each other beautifully in "White Christmas" -- it's a favorite of mine!

    I adore your classic posts, film to fashion, more please.

    Dino was my favourite of the rpack lot. As for comedy team, not sure I have a favourite - my comedy favourites go as far back as Harold LLoyd - way before my time... sowhat :)

    P.S. Glad we are both "back" although I wish I was as prolific sometimes.

    Good to see Dean and Jerry back!

    As to favorite duos?
    That's a real had question...
    -Laurel and Hardy (early on).
    -Abbott & Costello.
    -Burns & Allen
    -Gleason & Carney (although not "formerly" a DUO.
    -Bing Crosby & Danny Kaye
    -Hope & Crosby
    -Rowan & Martin (the late 60s)
    Not many people think of them as a "duo", but Harvey Korman & Tim Conway were fantastic together.

    Loads of funny in that group.
