Dean Martin actually made a music video that was shown on MTV back in the early 1980's. The video, the only one Dino ever did, was for his song Since I Met You Baby. It was directed by his son Ricci. I don't believe that I've ever posted it before. I wanted to share it with you guys. It's definitely got that 80's feel to it. Let me know what you think.
Brilliant blog, brings back a lot of memories, I love these old movies, only they are not easy to find anymore. I am a huge fan of Dean Martin, Frankie and one of my biggest, John Wayne. Clint Eastwood also, specially his role in Paint your wagon, also Lee Marvin.... My first time on your blog, love it!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
Colin.
What a cool video, it does absolutely smack of the 80s (you've got to love the gal with electric pink lips at the beginning), yet there's no denying the retro vibe Dean brings to it. Very neat - and brand new (both the song and vid) to me, thank you for posting this great find, Keith!
ReplyDeleteHave a stellar day!
♥ Jessica
I adore it!
ReplyDeleteXoXo
Hey Colin. Thanks for stopping by this blog of mine too. I appreciate it. I'm glad you like this and my other blog. I hope you'll come back again soon. Glad to see you're a fan of Dean Martin and all these other wonderful entertainers.
ReplyDeleteHey Jessica. Thanks. Glad you liked it. I think it's cool. It's a good song. I enjoy the video. It definitely has that 80's feel. Dino brings his magic to it as well. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI agree, definite 80s feel, cool though! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteVery 80s - like a Dino version of Addicted To Love
ReplyDeleteHey Jim. Thanks. Glad you liked the video.
ReplyDeleteHey Dave. Yeah, I agree. That's what it reminds me of.
ReplyDeleteI love this video. I wish I could have been in this video with him.
ReplyDeleteI think I may have seen this, an ex boyfriend was very much into Dean and Frank, he actually met Frank twice! He said it was harder than meeting the Queen. He was rather strange. (the ex boyfriend not Frank! lol)
ReplyDeleteSo cool! And here I thought Grand Master Flash made the first ever music video!

I had no idea! What an awesome video... such a voice, amazing style and handsome forever.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Keith!
What a hoot! Didn't know he made a video and yes, definately 80s. It reminds me of the Robert Palmer video with the ladies in short black dresses. Hope you are well Keith!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff.
ReplyDeleteNever seen the video or even heard the song before.
My favorite little known Dino song: Hangin' Around.
I love the electric pink lips! :)
ReplyDeleteI like it. very old fashion but lovely still.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing video. I am loving the 80s Audrey inspired lady. And nothing beats Dino in a tux!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Look at that great 80's cinematography! I think this song is really sweet. It's even cuter that it is for his son! it made me smile. Thanks for posting it.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
C
Hey Phoebe. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm sure you would have been a great video vixen.
ReplyDeleteHey Shopaholic. Thanks for the response. That's cool that you've seen this before. It's awesome that your ex-boyfriend was into Sinatra even if he was strange. Never thought I'd see the Queen and Frank mentioned in the same sentence.
ReplyDeleteHey Carrie. Thanks. I actually have no clue what the first music video was. I think MTV had been around a year or so when this came out.
ReplyDeleteHey Gabbi. Thanks. I'm glad I could introduce you to this video. It is neat to see Dino actually in a music video.
ReplyDeleteHey Veronica. Thanks. I'm glad I could share this video with you. It does remind me of the Robert Palmer videos.

ReplyDeleteI never heard this song or saw the video before, but I'm really liking it! There definitely is that 80's vibe, but I really like it and how retro it is too :)
ReplyDeleteHey Allison. Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's cool that I could introduce it to you. That's one of the things I enjoy about this blog. I can show people all sorts of things they might never have seen or heard before.
ReplyDeleteive never seen this before and thought that after reading what was before the video- it would just be another YouTube music vid that someone made themselves...i loved it! never mattered how old Dino was, he has always had that swagger and his voice never went south on him. he will always be one of my favorites. great post!
ReplyDeletevery cool - had not viewed this before - thanks
