This weekend I'm going to see Sammy, Jerry & Frank perform in Atlantic City. I wish Dino was there. It will still be an awesome show though. Then I'm going to be hanging out with Hugh Hefner and some hot babes. Check out those details at my Sugar & Spice blog. I can't wait. It's going to be quite the weekend for me. Hope you guys have a great one too. Cheers!
Seriously though. This photo was Sammy Davis Jr., Jerry Lewis & Frank Sinatra performing at Bally's Grand Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City back in 1983.

ReplyDeleteWowzers, Keith, that sounds like one amazing weekend! If you encounter any insanely stylish Rat Pack era ladies, can you please send them my way so we can dish about fashion? :D

Hey Jessica. Thanks. It should be quite the weekend. Of course, I would do that for ya. Take care. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing to recollect that these guys were still performing in 1983.
ReplyDeleteMost people at that time thought they were all washed up, no longer cool but simply past their time.
Now we look back and see that their music was timeless and classic- it will still be played 100 years from now, unlike what we considered popular and up-to-date in 1983.
I used to visit Atlantic City all the time when I was little - this picture brings back such memories! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Thomas. Thanks. I totally agree. I remember as a kid hearing people making fun of these guys. They were considered has-beens, etc. Now we realize what a joke those people were. These guys are legends. Their music is timeless. It never goes out of style.
ReplyDeleteHey Erika. That's cool. I've never really been. I wish I could though. It especially would have been great back then.
ReplyDeleteI've only ever worn a tux to my prom. I looked great..
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe. That and a formal wedding is the only time I've worn one.
ReplyDeleteWish that Dean could be there!

Hi Keith, is Sammy alive still? havent heard anything about him for years. I love this kind of music, my father had stacks and stacks of records of all of these artists, and I was brought up with classical music in the house.

ReplyDeleteHey Colin. Thanks. I appreciate you stopping by and commenting. I love this kind of music. I was turned on to it by my late grandmother. She had so records. Unfortunately they were lost years ago to some storms. Sammy died back in 1990. It's been almost 20 years since he passed on. Have a good weekend.
