I love this picture of Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. with boxing champ Sugar Ray Leonard. This photo was taken in 1984. I'm not sure who the other guy in the picture is. Any ideas? The fellas were at the Friars Club in New York City. I hope everybody will have a fantastic weekend. Cheers!
I bet that was some event.
ReplyDeleteLove this, so classic.
ReplyDeleteHey Phoebe. I'm sure it was.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth. I agree with you there.
ReplyDeleteI always loved those roasts.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great throw back picture. No idea who the others guys are but this event must have really been something
ReplyDeleteWhere do you find these awesome pictures? I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, I bet Dean had a tale or to, to share, as you know he was a boxer 'Kid Crochet'
ReplyDeleteHaha! Nice photo, Keith!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday!
xoXo
these guys are handsome!
ReplyDeleteLiterally a line up of heavy-hitters
ReplyDeleteLove the way they are all dressed; nothing beats the look of a man in an evening suit.;))
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend as well;)
I don't know who the other guy is either. Don't you wish you could google a face? Actually, we probably will be able to do that before too long.
ReplyDeleteHey Wolf. Me too.
ReplyDeleteHey Nubia. Thanks. I'm so glad you enjoyed this picture. I don't often post photos of these guys in the 80's.
ReplyDeleteHey Jami. Thanks. I find them all over the place, plus some are sent to me by friends.
ReplyDeleteHey Gingey. Oh yeah. Dino did all sorts of things in his youth, such as card sharking, boxing, you name it. I'm sure there are so many stories.
ReplyDeleteHey Janet. Thanks for commenting. Enjoy your Friday and weekend. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Insider. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave. I so agree.
ReplyDeleteHey Protege. Thanks for commenting. These are some nice dressed men. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteHey Bruce. Thanks for commenting. That would be good to be able to do. I don't know if he's connected to the Friars Club or what.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love besides them obviously looking aged in this photo, in contrast to your normal ones, if you base it on their wardrobe alone, you wouldn't dare to think it was 80's. I love this.....
ReplyDeleteHey JFK. Thanks for commenting. I know what you mean. They are obviously in their older years, but still dressed classy as ever.
ReplyDeletethanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteyour blog is awesome too :) very classy

ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for your comment in my blog¡It's cute¡
ReplyDeleteFab photo ~ looks like it was much earlier than 1984, maybe b/c it's B&W? Love the tuxes!
ReplyDeletexoxox,
CC
Once again, just a fantastic era in entertainment.
ReplyDeleteHave a great one!
Hey RL. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Carrie. Thanks for commenting. I've got some other photos around this same event. They were all mostly done in black & white. It's got to be in the 80's anyway because they are looking much older. Sammy would be dead in like 6 years from this photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl Lynn. I'm so glad you enjoyed the photo. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI love this picture...it just looks like they're having such a wonderful time =)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend Keith!

ReplyDeleteCool dudes.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great weekend too, take care,
xx
Great photo, I love the expression on their faces. Especially Sugar Ray, you can tell he's so happy to be there with them.
ReplyDeleteFantastic picture! I wouldn't have pegged it as being from the 80s, had you not said so. The power of a classic tux and B&W photography, eh? :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a stellar weekend, too, Keith!
♥ Jessica
Hey Dustjacket. Thanks. Enjoy your weekend. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gabbi. Glad you liked it. I don't blame Sugar Ray. I would be so thrilled to be in the presence of such cool icons.
ReplyDeleteHey Jessica. Thanks. Glad you liked it. The big thing that gives it away as the 80's is looking at both Dino and Sammy. They both are showing their age. Plus Sammy would die at the start of the 90's.
ReplyDeletehi keith!
ReplyDeletehow are you?
wow, that pic is almost as old as me.
awesome!
Hey Mom. Thanks. Glad you liked it. It's from the year before my sis was born. I'm doing well. Take care. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI found out that the other man in the photo is William B. Williams. He was a dj in New York. He was also a friend of the gang.
