Sammy Davis Jr. Goes To Washington

Here's a picture of Sammy Davis Jr. at a party in Washington, D.C. in 1964. Sammy was very involved in politics, fighting for civil rights for all Americans. He also was a supporter of other causes as well. I wish I could have been at this party. He definitely had to be a star attraction there.

  10. I wish someone would invent a time machine. I'd love to go back and meet Sammy.

I can remember as a kid my friends being afraid of him. But to me he was the coolest man alive. Michael Jackson could never compare.

Apparently when I was 3 I just had to learn to snap my fingers because of Sammy.

  15. Hey Jami. Thanks for commenting. He's definitely one of the top people I would want to meet if I could go back in time.

He's one of my favorite entertainers of all time. He could do it all, whether it was singing, dancing, acting, telling jokes, doing impressions, etc.

Most of the kids I knew, both black and white, made fun of him. It always ticked me off.
