Sammy Davis Jr. Does His Part For Charity, Plus An Award

This photo comes from 1969. Sammy was playing at a charity concert in Philadelphia. It was a benefit to help raise funds to deter gang violence. Sammy was always involved in a lot of different causes to help out others. That's one of the things I really admire about him. He used his celebrity status to really try to make things better in the world.

I hope you enjoyed reading those. It's quite hard to put just one word for an answer. I might have answered some of them a little differently otherwise. Oh well.

    Love the fact that Sammy did a lot of charity work. It often comes from your roots - if one does not have much as a child, it's good to give back when one can.
