Pierce Brosnan Is A Man On The Street, Plus James Bond Poll

Pierce Brosnan has been keeping quite busy since his time as James Bond ended. He has appeared in The Ghost Writer, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Remember Me in 2010. Here are some photos of the former 007 from GQ. I hope you enjoy these photos (by Ben Watts). Pierce Brosnan looks like one of those men born to wear a suit.

P.S. I thought I would do a new poll on the blog. Vote for your favorite actor who played James Bond. You have one week to make your choice. I will reveal the results in next Thursday's post. The poll is on the upper right side of the blog. Below are your candidates. Thanks for voting.

1. Sean Connery: Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever & Never Say Never Again.

2. George Lazenby:
On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

3. Roger Moore:
Live And Let Die, The Man With the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy & A View To A Kill.

4. Timothy Dalton:
The Living Daylights & Licence To Kill.

5. Pierce Brosnan:
GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough & Die Another Day.

6. Daniel Craig:
Casino Royale & Quantum Of Solace.

  7. Great post! I think Pierce is a very elegant man and especially so in light of having a lot of sadness in his life off screen.

I rank Bonds all time as...
    Connery
    Craig
    Brosnan
    Lazenby
    Dalton
    Moore

Moore would have been much better if he had not fallen [with no fault of his own] into a VERY bad time for JB scripts and goofy plotting.

  9. Pierce looks great in these photos! I think he was a good Bond but his Bond was also written kind of cheesy. I like that Craig's Bond is a little darker.

And I guess Sean Connery is the consummate Bond although my husband has always like Roger Moore in the role.

  10. I voted for Connery.

BTW, that Roger Moore picture is from The Saint... ;)

  11. I think these pictures are so fun. Love the concept, man in an expensive suit enjoying hot dogs and beer. My favorite Bond was Roger Moore, he's very charismatic

  12. Pierce captured my heart as the elegant art thief in The Thomas Crown Affair even more so than as James Bond.
He is cultured, refined, handsome and stylish..a winning combination in my book!
Love your topics by the way, cheers.

  16. I LOVE this post! Pierce Brosnan is the coolest! I know that it was rumored that he was angry because the producers of Remington Steele wouldn't let him out of his contract to play Bond (hence the short lived Timothy Dalton)but I think the timing was just right when he finally did get to play Bond. He was older and much more mature.

I voted for my all time favorite, Sean Connery, but Pierce runs a very close second. Thanks for those beautiful pics!

  17. I read somewhere that Roger Moore was more like what Ian Fleming invisioned Bond to be. I still like Sean the best.

  21. Peirce Brosnan is one of those actors who makes me squeal with delight.
As to the suit, he looks great and the camera loves him.

However, the wardrobe designer and other crew for REMINGTON STEELE stated that Brosnan preferred the days when his character wore more casual stuff like jeans and sneakers.

As to the poll, I can't make an informed choice since I've only seen two Bond movies in their entirety. Of course, I would choose the Brosnan Bond, because in my imagination he's a big budget Remington Steele.

  24. always Sean C. for 007.

Pierece always looks as if he jumped out of the band box.

  25. Keith:
Now this is a bit hard...

Connery (to me) is the quintessential BOND (best described from the original Fleming novels), but Brosnan did a very respectible job as well. Moore was too "gadget-heavy" and Lazenby HAD potential.

Granted they ALL look great in a suit or tux!
I am pleasantly suprised with Daniel Craig (from the first Tomb Raider flick)...he became a favorite of mine because Brosnan left.

So..if I should list them in (my) order of favorites, here goes:

    1-Connery
    2-Brosnan
    3-Craig
    4-Dalton
    5-Moore
6-Lazenby (only because he did ONE movie)

And you will make sure that this poll is "Shaken...not stirred", right Keith?

    Stay Cool!

  26. If i saw that man on the street I would diiieee! ...of happiness :)

  27. I love the pinstripe suit on him. I haven't really watched (any) Bond movies, but I think the role suited Brosnan, he looks great in a tux. Course, Connery is absolutely classic... I don't think I can't vote on this one!

  30. I love this post to DEATH. I literally grew up on James Bond movies (I've seen every one several times) and have always thought that Pierce was born for suits. What a stunning shoot!

Pierce Brosnan is the best of all James bonds

  33. I've had a thing for Pierce since "Remington Steele". He's so suave and my fave Bond (Roger Moore is close).

  34. Brosnan is pretty much the modern English gent! And as much as I love Goldeneye, Sean Connery will forever be THE Bond.

  35. he´s a good actor, in all ways

  37. Pierce may have in deed been born to wear a suit, but this in no way makes him the best Bond. Watching his films I am convinced he could not beat my little sister in a slap fight. Now Craig on the other hand, he would kick my trash.
BEst Bond by far is in between, Connery my friends. It is and always has been, Connery.

  38. I've said it many a time. I'm a Sean Connery man (and have voted that way). Thanks, Keith

  40. I've always had the BIGGEST crush on Pierce Brosnan. I loved him in Thomas Crown Affair. He was dripping with class. My husband and I are HUGE 007 fans. We own them all and I have watched them a zillion times. I never get tired of Bond. My favorite Bond has been Sean Connery for years then Pierce. However, I'm starting to really like Daniel Craig. He's so opposite of all the Bond characters. I think I like Daniel Craig and then Sean Connery now. Sorry Pierce, I still love you and your style. Never was a Timothy Dalton fan but I did like the set up of Licence to Kill.

My favorite post yet. Hope you are having a fantastic weekend.

  44. Oh, Pierce looks so good still and he is Irish too.;) I remember him best from Remington Steele.;)
I am not sure if i am late with my vote, but my favorite Bond is Timothy, I have always loved his looks and think it is a shame he only got to play Bond twice.;)

  45. Oh my goodness! How did I miss this????? I am a Bond fanatic!!

I own all the films, the books too (original Fleming ones).

I do love Pierce, I do I do! but... Sean... that velvet voice, that swarthy sex appeal, that take charge manner, his danger...swoon... he is for me THE Bond.

Although PIerce Brosnan too had this. Daniel Craig is just Bland, James Bland. Shaken but not particularly stirring.

I loved the Roger Moore era movies but oh my God, he was far too old and unbelievable for the role BUT... this realisation only hit me a few years ago, watching all the movies.

  46. Oh, how Mister Brosnan makes my heart skip several beats! He is delish! Plus, it's nice to see landmarks in my old neighborhood in some of the places he's modeling in.
