This picture is from the 1976 reunion of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis at the MDA telethon at the Sahara in Las Vegas. Frank Sinatra was the one who orchestrated this memorable event. It was great seeing these two together again.

Hey pallie Keith, this is one of those most wonderful of moments ever in Dinohistory...since watchin' the Dino and the jer flicks and readin' Jer's amore to our Dino (Dean and Me) have to say my attitude toward the jer has mellowed...clear to see how much the kid loves our great man...btw have you gotten and read the jer's Dinovolume yet...if you haven't you really owe it to our Dino to do so very very soon....
Hey pallie DMP. Thanks for the great comments. It was wonderful to hear from you. This was definitely a great day in history when Dino and Jerry reunited on stage. I bet tears would have come to my eyes if I had actually seen it when it happened. I've gotten to where I like Jerry more as time goes on. No, I haven't read his book. I really do need to get a copy of it very soon. Cheers!
Thank you for posting this photo. I had never seen it before. It would have been fantastic to have seen this when it did actually occur. I always loved these two together.
Hey Phoebe. Thanks. Glad you liked it. It would have been a wonderful moment to have actually witnessed. I was only like 5 when this happened.
I think I saw this but didn't understand the full weight of it. I was only 10 and had started watching their movies on Saturday afternoons, so to me it wasn't like I knew about any separation.
And thanks for your comments on my blog. Retrohound.
Hey Robert. Thanks for the comments. It was nice hearing from you. I doubt that many kids back then did realize the significance of what was going on with this. It may have been years later, if they became fans of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, before they would realize what this truly meant. I didn't see any of their movies until probably the late 1980's or so. You are welcome about the comments on your blog. I plan to continue to check it out. Cheers!
I recall Jerry saying that he was doped up during the 1970s that this was one of only two moments he remembered from the entire decade! Might be Jerry overstating things, but it sounded good!
I always felt that the '76 reunion wasn't so hot. Only someone like Frank could will this thing into being yet I still believe that Dino and Jerry still never reconnected after this. I think he went to Dean Paul's funeral, but I'm not sure. I hope the two had some significent reconciliation.
Hey C.K. Thanks for the comments. It was great hearing from you. I appreciate your response. I don't know much about Jerry Lewis at all. I've never really been that big a fan of his. It's only been recently that I've started to like him. I had no clue that he was doped up during so much of the 70's. I know he wrote a book called Dean and Me or something of that nature. I've had it recommended to me, but I've yet to read it. I do hope that Dino and Jerry did finally reconcile. I don't think it really happened here. I don't know if Frank thought he was going to make them become good friends again or what at this reunion. Thanks again. Stop by my blog anytime you like. Cheers!
