Dean Martin In Ocean's 11

A really good pallie of mine online, Steph, has sent me quite a lot of screenshots from some different Dean Martin movies. I decided it was time to start posting some of them. Here are some from Ocean's 11. I really dig that pad. I hope you enjoy them. There are many more to come in the future. Cheers!

Some Of Dean Martin's Beautiful Co-Stars

I usually post pictures like this at my Sugar & Spice blog, but it's always nice to post some gorgeous eye candy here as well. These beautiful women all co-starred with Dean Martin in some of his movies. One thing you can give Dino is that he always had sexy women surrounding him.

Favorite Album Covers: Dean Martin - Love Songs

I apologize for all the album covers I've been posting lately. I hope you guys aren't too tired of them. I did want to post this cover since I recently got this CD. This is the cover for Love Songs by Dean Martin. This CD is a collection of some of the best love songs by Dean Martin. It was released around Valentine's Day if I remember correctly. Nobody croons songs about amore quite like Dino. His voice is smooth and silky. It can really put you in a romantic mood. An album like this is the perfect one to put on when you are wanting to have some special time with your significant other.

Frank Sinatra Testifies About The Coolness Of The Dino Lounge

Frank Sinatra was called before a Congressional subcommittee to discuss whether he thought The Dino Lounge was a cool blog or not. :-)

Seriously though. I have no clue what is going on in these pictures. They are from 1965. Sinatra is testifying in front of some sort of hearing. Anybody have any ideas at all?

Ann-Margret Wants To Entertain You

I love this album cover of Let Me Entertain You by Ann-Margret. It's got an incredibly sexy picture of the Swedish siren featured on the cover. Wow! I actually came across a tribute video somebody made for Ann-Margret, which actually used this song. I thought it was pretty awesome. I thought I would share it with you. I hope you enjoy it. I wish Ann-Margret would entertain me. :-)

Check Out My Freaky Doctor :-)

I didn't think I felt that well, so I decided to go to the doctor. I found out though that I couldn't see my usual doctor. There was a new doctor on staff. When I saw him, I got my tail out of there real fast. Look at him! Wouldn't you do the same? lol

Sammy Davis Jr. Died 19 Years Ago Tomorrow

sammy-1967

Tomorrow marks 19 years since the death of Sammy Davis Jr. He died at his home in Los Angeles from throat cancer on May 16, 1990. Sammy was such a fantastic showman. He started his career at the age of 3 in vaudeville. Sammy was an all around great entertainer. He could do it all, everything from singing to dancing to acting to telling jokes to doing impressions of other celebrities. Sammy was wonderful in nightclubs, on Broadway, in the movies, on television, etc. He scored countless hit songs throughout his career. He was a Rat Packer, one of the coolest cats to ever walk the planet.

There were many highs, but there were also many lows. Sammy had quite a few health problems, including losing one of his eyes in a 1954 car crash. He abused alcohol and drugs. He spent and gambled way more money than he ever earned. He chased skirts while he was married. He faced racism due to the color of his skin and his marriage to a white woman. Sammy also faced resentment from many blacks, who said that he acted "white." His conversion to Judaism didn't go over very lightly with the masses. Sammy definitely faced his shares of trials and tribulations.

I want to raise a toast to Sammy Davis Jr. He's one of my favorite entertainers of all time. Sammy has more talent in his little finger than most of us have in our entire bodies. I don't think he ever got quite the amount of credit and attention that he deserved. I honor Sammy on the anniversary of his death. I'm sure he's up there in that big casino in the sky with all his pallies. Cheers!

Dean Martin - Everybody Loves Somebody

Here is a fantastic clip of Dean Martin performing his signature song Everybody Loves Somebody. This performance is at a charity event in St. Louis in 1965. Dino had scored a massive hit with this song the previous year. This tune actually knocked the Beatles out of the top spot on the charts. Dino would go on to use this song as the theme song on his show. This is a really cool clip. Dino does a very funny monologue before he sings. Some of the most famous quotes from him are in this video. I hope you enjoy this clip. Cheers!

Favorite Album Covers: Dean Martin - Hits Again

I personally don't own this album, but I really like this picture of Dino on the cover of Dean Martin Hits Again. This collection of hits was released in 1965. This album, along with Dino's album Houston, are available together on a CD. I like the fact that so many albums from Dean Martin are being released together with other albums on CDs. It gives us fans that don't have these albums a chance to hear this wonderful and cool music from the man himself. I do think this is a really nice pic of Dino. He always puts a smile on my face. Plus that's a cool jacket he's got on. My granddad had one just like that. Cheers!

Cool Album Covers For The Hip Cat's Pad

I love these album covers. These covers alone would have me sold. It wouldn't matter what the music sounded like. I've got a feeling though that these records feature some cool music. That's what any hip cat wants to be playing at his pad. I'd certainly like to have them in my collection. A fella could definitely have a swingin' time listening to these tunes with his chick. Cheers!

Dean Martin Playing Golf

This picture was sent to me by my pallie Mia.

dinogolf-frommia

I'm sure that most fans of Dean Martin will know how much he loved playing golf. I always enjoy seeing pictures of Dino out on the golf course. He looks like he's got something on his mind. I wonder if he's thinking about his game or something else.

Ava Gardner Says Frank Sinatra Was The Love Of Her Life

ava-gardner

Ava Gardner had a stormy and passionate relationship with Frank Sinatra. He was her third and last husband. They were married from 1951 to 1957. Frank left his wife Nancy to be with Ava. The gossip rags went crazy over the relationship. Many fans were distraught that Frank had left his wife to be with another woman. The Catholic Church was also not very happy about the situation. Frank's career suffered over his relationship with Ava, while it only added to her image as a sultry sex kitten of the era. She would use her clout though to help Frank land his role in From Here To Eternity, which would go on to win him an Oscar and revitalize his career. Their romance was probably doomed from the start. They fought as much as they made love. She would always say, however, that Frank was the love of her life. They did remain friends after their divorce. Frank even paid all her medical expenses after Ava suffered a stroke in 1989, which left her partially paralyzed and confined to bed.
