The Rat Pack At The Sands

Sands-Summit_Sign

Pallies, I sure would love to have been around to check out the Rat Pack at the Sands back in the day. That would have been the coolest, hippest, and swingiest show ever. These cool cats definitely ruled Vegas.

I'm not sure if these three pictures here are from the Sands or not, but I thought I would post them. You'll have to correct me if I'm wrong.

I love these pictures. I would have really enjoyed to have been able to visit the Sands during this era. I can only imagine how much fun it would have been to see these guys.

Hey there. I know what you mean. If I could go back in a time machine, this is definitely one place I would be visiting.

Man, did Joey Bishop EVER smile?
If I had the opportunity to hang with Frank and the boys in Vegas, I think you'd have to surgically remove the grin from my face.

I guess that was part of his shtick.

Hey pallie DMP. Yeah, I've noticed that. Of course, he should definitely always be. He was the life of the party. Cheers!

Hey Gilligan. I know what you mean. It did always seem like Joey never smiled. Being that Joey was so boring and dull, you would think he would be happy that these cool cats would let him hang with them. I know I would be smiling from ear to ear if I could have hung out with those guys.

The only place in Vegas that has that old Vegas feel to me is Binion's Horsehoe. They've got a steak place upstairs that you could picture Dino and the pack enjoying a steak and scotch and cigar.
Vegas will never be the same...

Hey Sue. Thanks for the comments. That place sounds awesome. What's weird is that I've never been to Vegas. I almost don't want to go since it's not like the Vegas of the Rat Pack era. That's the Vegas I want, not what it's become.

I think you might still like it. If you get a chance go. The lifestyle is still there, it's really just the buildings that change.

Hey Sue. Don't get me wrong. I would still go if given the chance. I guess I just mourn the loss of what I've seen of what the Rat Pack Vegas looked like.
