This photo is from when Jerry Lewis surprised Sammy Davis Jr. during his appearance on Playboy After Dark. I'm a big fan of this cool and hip show. I would love to have been able to attend one of these swanky tapings. There was so much to look forward to, everything from the stars of that era, lots of pretty girls, cocktails, cool tunes, and so much more. Plus you got to chill out with Hef. What a blast it must have been!
P.S. For those you haven't done it yet, please head over to my latest blog Sugar & Spice. It's my blog honoring the beautiful women, famous and non-famous, of the swinging 60's and groovy 70's. I hope you will check it out and leave some comments on any of the posts you like. Thanks. Cheers!

I love this picture. I did enjoy that clip you posted before from this episode. I also bet it would have been so fun to have been on this set.
Glad you like it. It is a cool one. I really dig this episode myself. I can only imagine how cool it would have been to have at this particular episode or any other for that matter.
Nowadays Hugh Heffner will probably be remembered for his reality (?) show at the Playboy mansion and bunnies. But back in those days he had more up his sleeve than humping around with the bunnies, I think. I saw last night the clip with Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski just a few days or weeks before she was murdered. Knowing now what will happen gave it an eerie feeling to the interview. Seeing Huffner in this show makes clear why he was the creator of Playboy and was not the silly old man that he has become with only one thing on his mind.
Hey Mirko. Thanks for the comments. I think most people of today see Hef has a dirty old man fooling around with a bunch of young bleached blondes Back then it was more than just about sex. It was a whole lifestyle. His magazine, the television show, etc. were about a certain style. Today it's declined to the point of being about like Maxim or any of those other magazines for men. There's nothing that really separates it, except maybe the nude pics of fake looking girls. I posted those clips of Sharon and Roman up here at some point in the past. They are eerie to watch, especially when you realize how soon after she was brutally murdered.
WHAT A COOL FIND PALLIE KEITH! I LOVE THIS PHOTO.
Thanks pallie Terri. I'm glad you liked it. It is really cool.
I guess I am getting old because I remember that show.
A lot of magicians were on that show too - like Don Alan and Al Goshman.
As I remember Harry Blackstone Jr. Also performed in the Playboy club.
Thanks for posting the picture Keith it brought back a lot of good memories.
Glenn Bishop
Hey Glenn. Nothing wrong with that. Glad it could bring back some good memories. Thanks for your comments. I saw this show later on when the Playboy Channel would air it. I was in my mid-teens. I learned about a lot of entertainers that I didn't know much about at all. Cheers!
