Dean Martin Is Dude In Rio Bravo

Dean Martin loves westerns. He made quite a few of them. I plan to cover some of them in detail in the future. I wanted to post some pictures and posters from Rio Bravo. This 1959 western starred John Wayne, Dean Martin & Ricky Nelson. A small-town sheriff enlists the help of his deputies and others to prevent a murderer from being broken out of jail by his powerful rancher brother. John Wayne plays Sheriff John T. Chance, Dean Martin is his drunken deputy called Dude & Ricky Nelson is a young gunslinger known as Colorado Ryan. I want to write a proper review for this film in the future.

Here is a clip of Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson singing My Rifle, My Pony & Me. I think it's a really beautiful song. I hope you like it.

I really like all those movie posters! And all the stills from the movie are awesome too...I've never heard of this movie before. Dean looks really good in the 6th picture too...even with the sweat and blood :) The song is definitely really nice too! Thanks for sharing it with us Keith :)

Hey Amy. That's okay. My sister can't stand westerns. That's cool about your dad. I got into westerns due to my dad and some uncles.

Do you what I've never seen it - or the Elvis film Charro

I didn't know he did Westerns. I watched a lot of Ozzie and Harriet re-runs growing up.

Hey Dave. I hope you get a chance to see it. I've never seen Charro before.

Keith said...

Hey Jim. Yeah, Dino and Ricky were both good in this movie.

Rio Bravo is the best western. You know Howard Hawks and John Wayne made this in response to High Noon. They hated that movie.

Fantastic shots and posters, I always think of Dean as a man of the suave, suit sporting set, so it's cool when I'm reminded that there was a different, rugged side to this incredibly talented man.

Hope you're having an awesome week!

Hey Jessica. Thanks. I find many people who are surprised when I bring up that Dino did a lot of westerns. I guess they find it hard to imagine him in them. He would very good in westerns.

Wonderful. Chance, Dude, Colorado and Stumpy... What a team! I love this film by Hawks. I think the song is one of the most exciting moments in the movie.

Greetings, Keith, and congratulations for the blog.
