Dean Martin & Sharon Tate On The Wrecking Crew Set

These pictures are from the set of the 1968 Matt Helm spy flick The Wrecking Crew starring Dean Martin and Sharon Tate. I love seeing these two together. They look like they are having a great time. It's such a shame to think of the horrible and tragic end that Sharon would meet on August 9th, 1969.

I actually watched this movie yesterday in honor of Sharon. It is so sad to think of how she died 40 years ago.

wow, what great photos. But how sad to think about poor Sharon! Ugh it makes me feel so angry when I think about what happened to her.

I just have to think about how carefree and gorgeous she looks in these photos.

Hey Phoebe. That's cool. I wanna watch it again. I hate that so many places though seem to glorify Manson.

Hey Clare. Thanks. Glad you liked these photos. That's how I try to be. I try to focus on Sharon's life and career. I don't wanna think about the horrible details about her death. It makes me so sad and angry.

Such lovely pictures! They both looked so happy. Seeing these images knowing what happened to her almost gives me an eerie feeling, but I definitely think people should remember her for who she was. It's unfortunate that more people associate her name with Manson than with her movies or her career.

I agree with everyone. Sadly, she will always be remembered for the way she died.

Congratulations on reaching 100 followers. People love what you are doing. You need to find a way to turn it into a real business.

Seeing photos before someone's death is always a surreal thing, still so, so sad 40 years later......

Great haul of pics Keith - I found free copy of the Cannoball Run while away on our hols, great performances from Sammi and Dino in it

Hey Savvy. I totally agree with you on that.

Hey Amy. Yeah, she was. It's such a shame because she was just at the start of her career.

Hey Haute. Thanks for commenting. I agree. My mind often drifts to thinking about how she died when I see pictures of her. I think most people are like that. It's a shame though. She should be remembered for her life and career.

Thanks Cathy.

Hey Bruce. I do think most people will always think about how she died when her name is mentioned. It's a shame though.

Thanks. I appreciate that. I do wish I could figure out some sort of real business to do.

These pics are nostalgically beautiful. The tragic end for the beautiful Sharon Tate will remain in our psyches forever. I remember watching these Matt Helm films as a child. My mother loved them and we went to the movies whenever one came out. Even as a kid, I thought Dean was pretty cool.

Great post.

Hey Cheryl Lynn. Thanks for commenting. I'm glad you liked these photos. I think we will always remember what happened to her. That's cool that you saw all of these movies growing up. I love them. Have a great day. Cheers!

I wished Dino had made the 5th Matt Helm like they palnned to.
Sharon i think helped the franchise get back on track with the Wrecking Crew.
And it was Chuck Norris's first film!

Keith said...

Hey Drake. I know what you mean. I wish they would have made it too. I do think this film helped things get back on track. Sharon definitely played a big part in that.

What fabulous candid shots. Isn't it marvelous to see the two of them just goofing off, being normal people? Gorgeous! :)

Hey Keith, I hope all is well!
Another great posting with another good advice. I have to see if I can get this movie somewhere here....
The story about the death of Saron Tate is so sad. I can remember when I first heard about it at age of 12 or 13, my brother told me when we were watching the Dance of the Vampire.
The pictures are so lovely, she was so amazing. I enjoyed watching them very much! Thanks for sharing!

Hey Gypsy. Thanks. I'm glad you liked the photos. I'm happy I could share them with you. I bet it was such a sad day when the news hit that she had been brutally murdered. I've watched specials about what happened, but I wasn't even born yet.

Keith said...

Hey Sofie. Thanks. So glad you liked seeing these photos. It's a really good movie. It was the last of these Matt Helm spy movies that Dean Martin made. Plus it also co-starred Elke Sommer. I hope you get a chance to see this movie. Cheers!

Hey Wiec. Thanks. It is a good movie. I enjoyed it. Dino and Sharon were so great together in this movie. It is really tragic how things ended for her.

Hey Allison. Thanks. Yeah, she was very beautiful. It's such a shame that her life and career were cut way too short.
